FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FOR BEGINNERS

1- How is a diving session developed for a person without previous experience?
We will meet at the beach and in the sand, the instructor will explain the operation of each part of the equipment: regulator (to breathe), BCD (Buoyance Control Device), mask (to see), and fins (to move on).

Next, we will explain the procedures for entering and leaving the water, underwater communication, and emergencies.
Then we get into the water, and at a shallow depth, we do the first practices: breathe through the regulator, remove water from the mask or clean it if it is foggy, and control the buoyancy, putting and removing air from the BCD.

Once these basic principles are mastered, little by little, we go deeper, looking for underwater life and enjoying the experience.

2- Do I need to know how to swim?
It is important to feel comfortable in the water, but you don't have to be a great swimmer, since in diving we only use the fins to move, with very little effort we advance many meters, moving the fins does not require any special technique (at a beginner level ). Conclusion: knowing how to swim or not, doesn't determine your ease of diving.

3-Where are we going to dive?
For beginners, I always recommend Catalina Island, because is the most friendly entrance to the water.

4- I have a diving certificate, but I haven't scuba for years, what should I do?
The best option is to do a refresher session. After that, you will be ready to return to the depths, we can also do more advanced exercises, just talk about it with the instructor.

5- DO you do diving tours regularly?
I only do private sessions, you have to book in advance.
